They have a crest of whitish hair from the forehead to the nape, the back is brown, the arms and legs are white or yellowish, the tail is orange at the base and black at the tip. They weigh on average 500 g. they eat fruits, nectar, fresh leaves or shoots, insects and lizards. The gestation period lasts an average of 170 days. The mothers carry the young for the first week, after which the father and other members of the group take charge, but give each young to the mother for lactation.
